Pawtuckaway State Park (NH)

La segunda ruta que el Cambridge Spanish Hiking Club organizaba este año estaba anunciada para Mt. Monadnock, pero debido a que no se había derretido toda la nieve y el hielo, era necesario subir con un equipamiento mejor del que la mayoría llevábamos.

Hubo dos propuestas de rutas alternativas, una a Pisgah State Park (New Hampshire) y otra, la que finalmente se decidió hacer por cercanía, a Pawtuckaway State Park, también en la vecina New Hampshire.

Pawtuckaway State Park es uno de los parques más grandes del sudeste de New Hamshire con 5.500 acres, allí se encuentran una montaña y un lago del mismo nombre.

Hay una gran variedad de paisajes y el parque cuenta con zonas de acampada, una playa en la que se permite el baño, mesas para picnic, zonas para alquilar canoas y botes de remos, baños públicos...

Al llegar hay que meter $5 por persona en un sobre e introducirlo en una especie de caja de madera dispuesta para ello junto a los mapas de los senderos.

El terreno era rocoso pero no había demasiada inclinación y el paseo fue agradable. La mayor dificultad la encontramos en la cantidad de agua y barro que encontramos durante todo el camino con algunas partes de nieve, en las zonas de más sombra.
